How to Create a Project

Timeline

Here we can post a timeline for deadlines and contest dates
TIME
Event
Summer - September
Begin thinking about possible NHD Topics.
Perhaps begin reading up on the history behind your interest.
September - October
Teachers will introduce classes to this year's theme.
Students will begin brainstorming great ideas, and researching both PRIMARY and SECONDARY SOURCES
October - December
Students will continue researching and will create their entry.

Teacher will introduce National History Day with video, handouts, and project requirements
Students will be given this year's theme, and asked to brainstorm _ different topic ideas to potentially research that would fit into the theme.
Week 3

Students will bring list of _ topic ideas they came up with that would fit this year's theme.
Week 4

Students will bring to class their narrowed list of no more than 2-3 topics. By the end of the period, students should have found at least 3 scholarly sources for their chosen topic

Welcome to the NEW homepage for NATIONAL HISTORY DAY at Penn Manor HS
This Page will be created to provide information to students in next year's contest, and also to provide Penn Manor teachers with resources that will help integrate NHD-style projects into our honors and AP level history classes.
This could probably also be used as a good way to get the resources in the hands of middle school teachers as well.
